SI of Hope Baguio is one of the more than 3,000 Soroptimist clubs around the world who work to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world. It is a volunteer organization comprised of business and professional women who contribute their time and financial support to community-based projects that benefit women and girls. The SI of HOPE signed its charter on July 30, 2005 and since then had been a continuing saga of passion and commitment. HOPE stands for Helping through Outreach Programs and Expertise.

The name, Soroptimist, means "best for women," and that's what the organization strives to achieve. Soroptimists are women at their best, working to help other women to be their best.

Our club belongs to the Soroptimist International of the Philippines Region (SIPR), which in turn belongs to the Soroptimist International of the Americas. The adoption of Barangay Happy Hallow is the very first project that we undertook. This barangay is the recipient of our medical missions, the Urban Kalahi Project (loom-weaving livelihood project), the support of eight scholars and the pioneering of the Barangay Council for the Protection of Children. On October 2006, the weekly local TV show “Welcome to Women’s World” was launched. The show tackles issues on women and children. Co-sponsored with another women’s group is an environment project, “Adopt a Roadside Park.” This park is now being enjoyed by families at Camp 7, Baguio City. Every year spells a new challenge for us as we commit to producing 10 children’s books advocating the rights of the child. The proceeds from our books will help maintain the first daycare center and breast milk bank in the Philippines, “The Hub of Hope.”
